I share your concern. People are pretty good at self deception. It can be that people may think they fight to protect themselves, while in reality they may be giving in to the impulse to flex their muscles. However, by bombing Libya, pres. Obama proved that one does not need to be a Conservative in order to succumb to such an error.

We have been very blessed to live in a country which has excellent freedoms and also has been the richest and most powerful one.

I think that political and economic freedoms - and good economic results - are profoundly interconnected. Can't have one without the others.
