Cheap Lightning Cables

As discussed earlier, the issue is whether these cheap cables will work exactly like the ones Apple sells. From experience, even the old 32-pin cables you get from Apple differ in functionality vis generation / type of device. For example, while an old (click wheel) iPod cable may fit on an iPhone 4S, it does not offer the same functionality as the one that comes with the phone. Just the other day I connected my 4S to my MBP using the old iPod cable, and the phone would not appear on the laptop. Then I used the cable that came with the 4S and everything worked fine. So, caveat emptor when it comes to buying 3rd party cables.
