the fact that Romney may underperform (or barely match) the listless McCain in 2008 is the real shocker of the election


According to other press source, white evangelicals DID turn out for Romney as heavy as they did for Bush in 04. So if the problem was Mitt being a Mormon and evangelicals DID vote for him anyway, who didn't vote for Mitt because he was Mormon? Maybe it was those broadminded independents impressed by all the leftist magic underwear snickering?
