It looks like AT&T iOS facetime users - in 8 to 10 weeks, just in time to miss the holiday shopping season - will get what Skype users have enjoyed all along and will continue to enjoy through this holiday season; video conferencing over cellular from their phone. Isn't that nice of them?
AT&T, with Apple's participation, was of course taking advantage of sheeple and requiring them to sign up for additional mobile data sharing plans before they'd let them use FaceTime on their network. I mean, if Apple can milk extra money out of iPhone users though encrypted data streams over proprietary ports, getting generously enhanced amounts of additional money from them to connect to functionally identical peripherals, then why couldn't AT&T too? Whats good for the goose, no? Lets face it, iPhone users have deep pockets and are generally well accustomed to spending a lot more than they have to.
Well, it turns out that some "net neutrality" rules may have been violated, and someone had to come in and spoil the fun with some lawsuits. Ugh. Oh well, maybe that new Lighting port can help ensure the overall milk production remains at historical levels. The recent trends in Apple stock price certainly aren't reflecting this, however.
