Not sure this is necessarily so. People do things for different reasons, sometimes the very same thing. We may be a tad too quick to dismiss millions of people. Due to the nature of my occupation, I work with many people who may be poor and uneducated. The archetypal 47 percenters. I think most of them would have no difficulty understanding that the only reason they survive is because the USA is a rich country. You can't squeeze water out of a rock. If the economy goes under -and it will - the poor will be the ones who will suffer the most. Give them assurances that they will not be abandoned, show them that stupid Dem policies are endangering everyone, including themselves -- and many will go with you.
