Media Slammed Mitt’s Food Donations, Now Sandy Victims Plead for… Food Donations

The Old Media spent several days last week attacking Mitt Romney for his October 30 event in Ohio where he presided over supporters coming together to donate money, clothing, and food for the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Then the food donations were ridiculed. Yet, now ABC News is reporting that victims of the storm are now calling for food donations from the public.

Naturally on the day of the Romney event, the very left-wing MSNBC went wild attacking Romney for gathering canned food for the victims. Their “reporting” makes it clear why Pew rated MSNBC as the most biased cable station on the air.

But the extreme left-wing MSNBC isn’t the only Old Media outlet that attacked Romney for the donations. The liberal Slate told Mitt to “ can the cans.” The equally liberal Salon.com also attacked Mitt for the donations.

Aside from the admitted left-wing outlets such as those above, the covert lefties at the Washington Post spun negative about the donations. As did Bloomberg, and The New York Times. Others did as well.

CNN, for instance, tried to make the Romney rally into some sort of sham because the campaign itself made some of the donations.

Even ABC News itself made light of Romney’s event.

Yet, now, only days later, that same ABC is reporting that victims of Sandy are calling for food donations!

“The residents of Staten Island are pleading for help from elected officials, begging for gasoline, food and clothing three days after Sandy slammed the New York City borough,” ABC reported on November 4.

“This is America, not a third world nation. We need food, we need clothing,” Staten Island Borough President Jim Molinaro said today. “My advice to the people of Staten Island is: Don’t donate the American Red Cross. Put their money elsewhere.”

This is so typical of “the news,” isn’t it? Instead of reporting, they opine. For days the media ridiculed Romney for the food donation event, yet now they are reporting that Romney’s initial instinct was exactly what was needed.
