We agree that the GOP needs to worry less about how close to the left a candidate is and more about how they will get the base worked up.

You pointed out several gaffes Romney made to pander to the leftist media. The first thing I noticed was the lack of Tea Party events. The Tea Party got out the vote in 2010. They stayed home in 2012.

President Bush 43 promised action on the defense of marriage and protecting life. After his win in 2004 with solid majorities in both parts of Congress he made no effort to follow through on his promises. No Amendment was submitted. The evangelical voters voted with their rumps in 2006 and democrats took Congress.

If Romney had scheduled a Tea Party rally every week in a swing state he could have gotten several million more voters excited to vote.
