Well, I voted for Obama (and donated a lot of money) and am very pleased by the result. My 3 kids now face a better future, as does my business. Such a great day for our country!

Conservatives nowadays aren't very good with reality. Normally they can get away with this (believing Obama is a Muslim or wasn't born in the US, or that global warming is some kind of gigantic communist conspiracy, for instance) because they are immune to scientific facts and let emotion drive their thinking. They want to *believe*, not to think. Maybe this comes from the miedeval religious fundamentalism that is rife in parts of its base, but it just doesn't work.

And thus they did the same thing with the polls - believing that the polls were skewed or had a liberal bias, and so therefore Romney had to win. They invented their own reality and ignored the math. I saw it time and time again on this thread, as most posters blindly swallowed the Fox News line.

Unfortunately for them, elections are a test of reality. Thus when Obama won - just like the "skewed" polls said he would - they had to face the fact that they had lied to themselves. Or some of them have faced this - while the rest are now creating new conspiracy theories (it was Sandy's fault, or Christie's fault, or Obama cheating somehow - anything but accept responsibility for their own errors).

As for the idea that Obama voters are all welfare recipients who want stuff, the claim is laughable. And it makes one wonder: how many posters on this board have decided to forgo medicare, or veteran benefits (the military is the most socialist institution of our country), or social security? Not many, I wager. And the fact is, the red states take far more tax dollars than the blue ones. So if conservatives want to push that line over the next 4 years, well, lots of luck with that. It's just another myth and a loser, politically.

You conservatives have a lot of work ahead of you. I wish you success, because you do have many good ideas (such as Obamacare, which was originally a GOP idea). You guys need to get out more into the real world. For unless you start getting out of your echo chamber and accepting science and logic, you're looking at a long slide into oblivion.
