That is really a good question. WHY did patraeus accept the move to CIA? Vince Flynn was on a local Twin Cities radio show yesterday. He described a supper he shared with Petraeus. And yes he's a raging egoist (guess you don't get 4 stars without being one). But Flynn said he was passionately opposed to the black ops, CIA stuff that fill Flynn's books. Said he thought the military should be in charge of killing the country's enemies, not CIA operatives. Flynn said he had no idea with the attitudes he held about spies why he connected to head the CIA. He HATED the CIA. Flynn has excellent contacts with people in that world.
