One is BSDM.<

Thanks. I found that interesting, though mainly just from seeing them take some notice. BSD Medical has been struggling for so long it has dropped off most “radars”. But, the technology has reached sanctity (for most of the products) and is now reaching sanctity (for the “Big Bertha” products; the 2000 series) in the essential Phase III trials. There have been and are numerous “final” Phase III trials proving highly successful for the BSD-2000 series of products – for many “different” cancers. And, “Different” is probably not important for killing-by-heat, as all tissue – healthy or cancerous – completely dies at the temperatures generated by BSD M’s various equipment. This is in very-important contrast to both radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which can leave live cancerous cells.

>Another is THLD. "TH-302 is an anticancer agent in clinical development at Threshold. Preclinically, it is preferentially activated under hypoxic conditions and has demonstrated potent anticancer activity in many preclinical cancer models. TH-302 is converted selectively to the drug's active form, dibromo isophoramide mustard, a potent DNA alkylator, within hypoxic tumor cells. TH-302 targets levels of hypoxia that are common in tumors but are rare in normal tissues - this is how selective targeting of the tumor occurs."

Seems interesting but a long way from being used in practice, and extended studies often torpedo a promising drug.

One good thing about BSDM is that they are much further along in regulatory development of their treatment.<

YES! And, if TH-302 actually proves important, it is very likely it will be much more effective if the tumor in question is heated by one of BSD M’s machines! Of major importance for BSD Medical’s future (near term, as well as long term) is the proven fact that heating strongly potentiates both radiotherapy and chemotherapy – and even surgery (by reducing tumor size before the surgical procedure).
