I will have to agree to disagree. romney never contested any significant percentage of the trash that was thrown at him during the campaign. He never really offered up any rebuttal to any of the character attacks. I imagine he thought people would just know better if he acted nice (and I am pretty sure he is a real nice guy but you know what they say - nice guys finish last). He never really connected a lot of his ideas to just what they would translate into, on the ground, for the american people. He never really presented a specific vision for a Romney presidency. There was no "shining city on the hill" moment.

I was very leery of him from the start, because it was apparent the media favored a Romney candidacy, which told me they figured he would be the easiest one to beat.

He allowed the democrats to demonize him terribly, and never really defended or rebutted at all.

Harry Reid's 'accusation' that Romney paid no taxes at all for 10 years went a lot further than they could ever have dreamed it would .. they got lots of mileage out of that one. I never heard Romney even one time say anything like "Senator Reid either produce your evidence, or shut up" ... nothing.

Romney was in the lions' den. He needed to get down and dirty a couple of times, He never did.
