Some interesting developments in the gasification space in the past few weeks. Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich has taken stakes in: Alter NRG ($10MM) AFC Energy (UK8.7MM) Waste2Tricity (15%) RA has a net worth estimated between $10-19B so the fact that he has made small investments relative to the size of his PF indicates to me that there must be more to the story than this. He is either looking to capitalize on how this technology will create opportunities with his existing businesses or maybe he is looking to create investment opportunities by getting equity stakes in the plants they will build.
