The whole issue of taxation is distorted. I have heard many well off individuals say they would be willing to accept higher tax rates is the revenue was not simply pissed away on more boon doogle spending. When you hear Obama talk about wanting to use the money to "invest" in America he simply is saying he wants to spend more. The hard truth of this matter is that countries that have a larger safety net essentially have no military. The welfare state cost is inconsistent with a world class military. It is that simple. One or the other have to go. There is NO path that funds both. Bob
