FWIW,

A friend of mine use to refer to his spouse as his "child bride." I liked that so much...I have borrowed it. It's light, respectful and a compliment (when said properly). I have also started calling her nicknames which reflect her best side..for example, when she is in a "joking mood" or teasing me I may call her "sparky."

I have never used the terms you mentioned because I wouldn't want her to refer to me as a "fat, bald-headed old fart." (even though I am none of those..well..46 years old...maybe the old would fit). On the other hand she's not an "old lady" or a "ball and chain," etc.
