Al, the implication in my post is clear. There's a difference between perception and reality. One man's perception is another's reality. If you reject that the GOP (which is what we were talking about) has an image problem, then I stand corrected...keep supporting a party whose official platform is harsh and inflexible to women, minorities, the poor, the gay community and other growing constituencies and see how that works for you. By the way, GOP party leaders don't share your optimism and are indeed advocating change...whether the party is able to achieve it is a function of the traditionally rigid elements who have brought it to the current state of "perception".
