Ed Bott wrote a guide for Windows 8 users who hate Metro. He offers suggestions for removing several annoyances. Metro Hater Guide For those who aren't familiar with Ed Bott, he wrote some excellent books: *Windows Inside Out. Thanks to Ed Bott's suggestions, I've lowered the temperature of my disgust for Windows 8 from Surface of the Sun Hot* to a much less extreme Molten Lava! Cheers, PW. P.S. It's not fair to comment on Windows 8 without giving it more time. It's just that the more I work with it, the more I dislike it; hence, my fondest assessments came early. P.P.S.
