The day the markets had to close early I watched a tape I had of the 1987 crash. At that time the ads were almost nothing but for various precious metals funds and services. People must have been putting a lot of money in hoping for a replay of the earlier booms in gold and silver. Briefly, they seemed to be right. Of course, it turned out to be the worst possible investment. It may be the same with the equity funds now (probably not as bad for a ten-year period, but bad enough).
