More government spending can generate demand by providing jobs.
That can't last forever, unless your goal is for government to be the primary source of jobs.

So how long is it going to take before we actually see an economy that doesn't rely on trillion dollar deficits? Four years? Eight years? Want to bring up FDR and how he supposedly didn't do enough "stimulus"?

When you're talking that long, "stimulus" is no longer the proper term. The proper term is "pork."
