Latest from Kyle gurufocus.com Thanks for introducing me to Kyle because he along with Bob and Prem made me become really conservative half way through the year it was then that it finally clicked that this was far from a normal environment. Without a doubt this is the hardest time in my lifetime to invest you really have to have a diffrent game plan in my opinion there will be a day to go long again but we are a few years away from that point. I kept my old portfolio on a spreadsheet before becoming really bearish and conservative and boy I would not be happy today!! The return would be 1.37% for the year yuck and dont forget I jumped out to a 30% or so gain led by Bruces beat up financials! My top holdings @ the time when I started losing my undwear and just before I started to take risk off was MBI, XCO, TSCDY, JEF, NFX, ANR, PEP, JRCC, ACI RIMM. Only I believe XCO, TSCDY, PEP and RIMM I would of made money on or been flat the rest got slaughtered. Anyways my portfolio now is positioned not to lose much money and I am happy to say I am not to far away from first place. Like you said before luck does play a role in investing I see that more clearly now I could easily be flat for the year. FAIRX 25.83% ME 18.93% BRKB 12.60% S&P 8.13% YAFFX 5.96% FPPTX 2.57% LUK -9.94% FRFHF -15.9%
