You made this claim, but then refuse to explain how it is "overly simplistic."
It is a simple fact that poor people in America today live better than poor people in almost any country -- they get food stamps, free health care, if they do find a job they will be paid higher than market rates for their work, they can get free cell phones from the taxpayer, and if they've lost their job in the last few years they'll probably get unemployment benefits. They may get a healthy tax refund at year end, if they've worked at all. Benefits worth tens of thousands of dollars.
So, how is it an over simplification?

During eight economically difficult years, when he walked in the door facing recession, then 9/11 which any thinking person expected to cause significant economic trouble for the ensuing years, two wars, Katrina, and ending with the economic collapse caused by Clinton policies.
And of course, as we all know, it isn't how many jobs "created", it is how many were "created or saved". Bush policy undoubtedly saved millions of jobs. |
