If your cloning a drive, I just bought a new 500GB HD off ebay, what are the steps for swapping over to the new HD when your running microsoft windows? I'm using win 7 proff, but I also duel boot on XP. The OS's, user files and partitions on both drives are now exactly the same. Both sets of HD drivers are showing in the Computer Management Device Manager on both OS's. I'll probably muddle through using a change in the bios boot order priority for the HD's, but I am sure the HD drivers should probably be unloaded or something as they will come back in a different order. The boot files will probably not work either. Just wondering how its done by qualified technicians.
