HPQ-it just goes to show you how treacherous investing can be. here we are small investors trying to figure out whats going on and major cpa-s m multibillion dollar firms seem to be clueless about what they are buying. How does a company with the resources that HPQ has at their disposal get fooled so badly? yet their were shorts that were raising questions about autonomy as early as 2009. Makes u wonder how much fraud is really going on. What exactly do cpas do to earn their keep? Seems to me that if a cpa lacks the skills to uncover significant frauds there is some problem with their educational process. it shouldnt be so easy for shorts to make a good living by detecting frauds as they seem to be able to do over the past decade or so.
This also doesnt reflect so well on Klarmans fund which had a big position in HPQ.
