Digital Equipment Corp. is expected to announce a new workstation next week that will be positioned as an alternative to Apple Computer Inc.'s machines. According to officials, the workstation -- called Creation Studio -- will be targeted at four main market segments: desktop publishing, video editing, graphic arts illustration, and animation and game development. For example, the 300I will ship with Corel Corp.'s Draw 7.0, while the 500a will ship with Draw 8.0.
