morsi has performed a parallel but no different act in egypt in just one step as was done in two steps in germany after the reichstag was burned in 1933. subversives and communists were blamed, and the reichstag fire decree was signed by von hindenburg that significantly curtailed many rights germans had under the weimar constitution. then about a month later the enabling act was passed by the reichstag that allowed the cabinet to pass laws Without participation of the reichstag (the german parliament). the enabling act was supposed to last 4 years, and morsi's new act (that does the same thing) in egypt is supposed to last only 6 months. i bet that schedule is never met in egypt just like it was not met in germany.
