I almost went into a riff about only reading short stories anymore, O'henry or Jeeves length, but I hardly even do that. Borges wrote short stories, I read a book of those a couple of years back. An occasional thing on neuroscience rounds out my non internet reading anymore.

Lem is light science fiction, even though the wikipedia thing does great homage.
He's a weird duck.

Prix the Pilot is an interesting character. He's got things in common with the Fandorin character Skinowski likes.

He also wrote short stories that are a cross between science fiction and some imaginings from the rings of Saturn. They are entertaining, or at least I found them so.
