While I certainly agree that healthcare won't be eliminated by the Republican's, and we all know they gave it the name Obamacare to try to put it down. I believe we also know that the law, as it currently exists, could stand some improvements. For one thing, the conditions it was approved under made it so that legislation favorable to certain states got in to keep certain legislators votes.

It wouldn't be a bad thing if with Republican cooperation amendments to the law could be made that would benefit all of us, except perhaps those who got benefits included for their votes. Perhaps at some point even the Republican's will admit that having a healthcare plan is better than not having one.

I for one would have no problem with improving the healthcare law as part of a compromise to avoid going over the fiscal cliff we're heading for. While I believe the Republican's would have had a far greater shot at the Presidency had they not made it their goal to put preventing his reelection above the needs of the country. Now he can't run again, if they ever want the Presidency again, they should demonstrate they can do something positive for the country. If they fail to do so, and if the public sees it that way, two years from now you may see the Democrat's take back the House.
