Ratings, nah? CNBC now has a running timeclock against the Fiscal Cliff. They wouldn't try to dramatize such a thing, would they?

Some part of the cliff is going into effect, and I would mind seeing the whole thing go into effect if it brought the budget deficit down to a reasonable level around 3% of GDP. Government spending is still running above 23% of GDP which is way too high based on the historical levels around 20%. Get the spending down first, then figure out the rest.
