Thread-I need help on a tax question!! I have about $20,000 in realized losses accrued in 1997. I have not yet taken any profits in '97. Can I sell some shares that have deep unrealized gains, offset that with my losses, and then repurchase the winners, thus raising my basis price, and reducing my future taxable profits? Is there a waiting period before I can re-purchase? Any input appreciated!! billwot
