Here's a question for you - I have a 5 year old laptop that reboots EXTREMELY slowly (about 8 minutes to power off, reboot, and load whatever is getting loaded). Can I used my other copy of Windows 7 Home premium to do a clean install of Windows on this slow laptop, and perhaps speed it up?

I have the registeration code for the laptop's existing Windows 7 - it's 32 bit and the discs for the new Windows 7 are 64 bit, would that cause a problem? I'm wondering if I use the 64 bit software to do the reinstall, and then enter the correct code for the old machine, will it be a problem since the code is for a 32 bit Windows 7 but the one I just installed was actually 64 bit?

I don't have the discs for the old laptop, so I can't use them to do the reinstall.
