Thankfully, my old ones don't have to handle high-demand applications. If they did, even an enormous amount of RAM would not work. Maxing out my RAM on these two have helped, but lately I can't watch mid-resolution Youtube videos on the laptop without them getting very choppy. So, it's reaching the end of its effective life for that kind of thing.

And it only has a 30 GB drive. I can still remember my first hard drive - a 20 mb one at 3600 rpm. I would need 500 of them to handle what one of mine does now.
