Yeah, everyone wants a "smaller government"--

but with Medicare, Social Security and Defense unchanged. Just get rid of foreign aid, for heavens' sake, that'll take care of the deficit! Time for the US to stop being so generous to an ungrateful world!

That, IMHO, is what this "preference" amounts to in reality (in case it must be said, the sentence above on foreign aid is sarcasm). Wait until those "Republican political operatives" poll people on the specifics of what "smaller government" actually means. They are all living in lala land. Even as they claim that "lefties" all just want to hold hands and sing qumbaya. What nonsense.
