>Since this is not my field, I may be wrong in my analysis. Still I must work with the information/knowledge I have. <

Totally fine with me. I do not really you to do otherwise. But, I have been a close observer of BSD Medical and their technology for decades – and I worked in microwave measurements at the (then) National Bureau of Standards (now the NIST) for many years. Further, my NBS work included the topic of hazardous electromagnetic fields – which is technically similar to the topic of medical use of EM fields. This gives me far more insight into their developments than all but a small percentage of the investors; outside the company, that is.

>I believe that, by far, the greatest amount of treatment goes to the original tumor. Zapping metastases is not so big a business, although if one is otherwise relatively healthy they might zap a secondary tumor, or operate on one, that is causing specific troubles (such as blocking the throat), or a particularly large one. I understand that once cancer within the body as a whole gets to a kilogram or so, you will be dead. If BDSM could be used to knock back larger growths it might buy some time, and be worthwhile. I doubt it would be a game changer unless it could do so with much greater efficiency. Maybe it can. <

You are not yet accurately attuned to the situation. BSD M’s equipment can treat original tumors just as well as metastases – and of essentially any size. One use of their machines is to, as an adjuvant, reduce the size of large tumors so surgery has a better outcome. And, large tumors – original or secondary -- can also be killed by heat, alone.

>As to the thyroid, if one treatment by BSDM equipment sufficed, it could be a large field. But if one saves money initially and needed more treatments later, perhaps not. After all, if the thyroid it taken out surgically, after that you are good. Just take a cheap pill every day.<

Why do you suppose one treatment is not enough? That is not the usual case, by any stretch. It is true, though, that additional treatments might be necessary – same goes for other cancer treatments. This is relevant, also: because radiotherapy treatments can themselves cause cancer, repeated treatments are sometimes not advised. Not so, for microwave therapy; another advantage!

>As to the prostate, that seems a promising area. Hard to operate on. If they could ablate it easily with BSDM equipment, that could become the standard of care. I can even imagine prophylactic care where all men over 60 had a treatment. After all, most have enlarged prostates and many will have some cancer in the gland anyway, and it not an essential gland. <

The Thermatrx TMX-1000, now owned by American Medical systems, was specialized for that task. I did well, and still is doing well; but a laser-based machine (also AMS) appears to be taking most of that market.

>But the most significant treatment will remain the initial treatment of a self-contained cancer other than lung or kidney. I say that because I believe that in most cases they would continue to just cut out the whole lung or kidney rather than chance another type of treatment.<

You still have a lot of reading to do! The picture you describe is still true, but the prognosis is for much surgery to be replaced by Interventional Oncology techniques; with BSD M’s equipment playing a major role.

>I'd agree there seems to be potential here. Still I get nervous with story stocks, especially ones that have a good story for 10 years and have a history of many dilutions. Maybe I will add a bit to my position though.<

I suppose “story stock” is still warranted – but, a more accurate description is probably “star is born”. :-) This view is supported by 1) the apparently successful MTX-180, 2) the successful BSD-500, the successful TMX-1000, and 3) the successful (outside the U.S.) BSD-2000 series. And, 4) the BSD-2000 series is evidently going to soon be FDA approved in the U.S., as several-to-many Phase III trials are showing very positive results. And, 5) the BSD-2000 series is already approved in some major foreign countries. I think overall sales are building rapidly, and profitability is likely, soon.

I suggest a very close watch on BSDM – or a speculative buy now – as I believe much news will emerge soon. I expect another update for the MTX-180, at any time.
