But, but, but, Steve says stammering; that is exactly my point. Doesn't make much difference if you increase the tax rate if that just encourages more gaming of the system which it absolutely will do. Okay, I've jumped back and forth between corporate taxes and taxes on the highest wage earners - but they are often the same. In both cases the actual rate is essentially meaningless and I might add one of the reasons we are in such a world of hurt with our debt. So you end up penalizing the responsible corporate or high wage earner who is paying his fair share and reward the skunk who is escaping paying taxes. Why would you want to retain that system?
