I will accept that we aren't in a recession right now, when NBER says so, not just because you say so. By all traditional and historical standards, we are in recession and have been for awhile. It just doesn't fit the "we're recovering" rhetoric and hopes of the Dems to admit that. But if you are honest with yourself, you'd start to ask why the Fed thinks it is necessary to do a new round of QE or why Obama is trying to insert $200B of new stimulus spending into the so-called deficit cutting negotiations to avoid the Fiscal Cliff. Are these measures because Bernanke and Obama feel we're recovering? No. It is because they know we're in recession and they want to do something about it. Too bad their answers for what ails us is more of the same of what got us here. But their diagnose of that there is a problem is accurate.
