All I can say about today is wow. Lots of talk about the Digitimes article causing at least some of this worry. I thought Digitimes was one of the least accurate outfits on reporting about Apple. To me, it has the feeling of a hatchet job, a successful one at that.

What I am seeing anecdotally is that Apple is selling all the stuff they can make. Most people that I know are upgrading their phones to an iPhone 5. I heard a story from a colleague about their kid selling a goodly amount of her stuff to have the money to buy an iPad mini for Christmas. As a family, we will probably buy at least 1 iPhone as an upgrade for my wife and maybe a Mini iPad. Will hold off on the new form factor of the iMac until we see a little more about it with regards to reliability.

I have also heard several people I work with consider the Kindle Fire as a tablet. What I have talked to them about is to make sure that it does what they want from a tablet before buying. But they are enticed by the price. I don't think Apple should have sacrificed margins to get to the KF price point but there is a significant part of the market that will look at something besides an Apple product just because of the price.

Sitting pat here but will look at some long term options if they become cheap enough. Good luck out there.

Neal
