Sort of off topic, but YORE, light does not travel
at the same speed in all media.
The well known "speed of light" is the speed in a vacuum.
Also, I doubt the propagation of waves down an optical fiber occurs
at the speed of light in the medium of which the fiber is made;
speed should depend on the nature of the mode which is propagating,
which involves waves bouncing and rebouncing off the walls of the
fiber.

Cheers,

Howard
