I believe increasing CO2 is the cause for the drop in plankton....

That's an insane assertion. Phytoplankton will consume whatever quantities of CO2 that are available to them, so long as every other critical nutrient and condition is also available..

As for blaming acidification, that's also a stupid assertion. And the evidence seen from phytoplankton blooms in the aftermath of volcanic eruptions, or that intentional iron fertilization this past summer off of British Columbia PROVES that phytoplankton will grow, despite any purported acidification.

Why do you continue to present such stupid arguments in an attempt to deny the obvious?

The fact is that the oceans have become "anemic" from lack of Iron. That limits phytoplankton growth and results in higher CO2 saturation levels in the ocean waters.

Give them what they need to thrive and they will sequester and sink that excess Carbon to the ocean depths.
