What is so stupid about Google wanting Groupon? They already wanted them 2 years ago for $6 billion, when Groupon was a fraction of its size and just a busines model. Now, Groupon is a proven company that has grown tremendously. Google may look at Groupon and think that with all their users and their search knowhow, they could make Groupon run more efficiently, reach more people, and provide extensive search capabilities for those looking for Groupons. Actually, a company like Yahoo should take over Groupon to make themselves relevant again.
