It looks like SI is set to handle 1300 pixels wide, but to be on the safe side pick 1000 pixels wide or smaller. Anything above 1300 gets re-sized by SI and will end up distorted, as seen in the first two at the top, look at honeycombs. Plus people with smaller screens won't have to scroll to the side to see your image.

Any photo editor will let you re-size the image properly to avoid distortion.
