That is pretty right wing stuff you are throwing out there: hand outs, raising the medicare age when we are trying to get universal health care anyway.

The old people want hand outs? Really?

First, you are a teacher in good health. Pretty easy gig on the body. What if you were a concrete worker?

I sit behind a desk to and can do it, or teach until I die. But I could not stand all day checking groceries or laying concrete.

Secondly, as Howard Dean and others have pointed out, what do you save raising the age? Nothing, and Dean knows those statistics as well as anyone on earth. By raising the age two years people will die who otherwse would not, and they have to be taken care of anyway. Medicare is cheaper than the open market, or emergency rooms, or not getting health check ups. Especially at 65!

So you save nothing.

And I when you talk about old people wanting hand outs, how is that different from Romney's 47% comment?
<<Come on. 67? Really? That's so terrible? I was born after 1960- "full" retirement age for me is 67. I would support Obama raising the medicare age to that. I realize all the old people want handouts, but since we aren't giving much to children, I don't see the point in giving away the store to the elderly.>>
