"You just make it work."

Right
If I had a nickle for every time someone said that about something that's difficult. I am sure you wish everyone could teach from a wheelchair. And no doubt the American's with Disabilities act would say everyone should be able to. I, from the trenches, will say it's not optimal, and in many circumstances would result in a royal mess.

I have no idea whether you ever taught, or what kind of teacher you were. But I know what I can do, and I know what I can't. And I've seen what my colleagues can do, and what they can't. And we have some disabled teachers (and I tried to teach when I was disabled- and I quit after one day, because I just didn't have the command and control I had had before). Disabled teachers I've seen don't do as good as job. Sad, but true. I wish it weren't so, but it is. We won't stop them teaching, of course It would probably be wrong to do that. But in high school, in regular classes, I think it's probably sub-optimal 95% of the time.
