Unfortunately, RW, it doesn't work that way. There is no free lunch. That 70 years of perceived prosperity came at the expense of future generations' standards of living.

That's the downside to living on borrowed money. Eventually, the fun stuff is over.

"Perceived" prosperity? For 70 years? Good shit man.

Works well when patriotic citizens are willing to pay taxes that match the benefits that they derive from the greatest economic machine in the world. When they decide its cheaper to pay lobbyists for special favors; not so much. It's no longer an efficient machine.

The USA is a single organism, as healthy as its weakest part. It shouldn't be a scramble for resources and grabbing everything you can from anyone and everyone that is weaker. That's what cancer cells do. The organism dies.

Those were 70 great years. Now not so much, eh? The cancer cells are killing the organism.
