I think TV content distribution is difficult to alter because the current model isn't really threatened (as the music biz clearly was 10+ years ago). Cable companies and producers seem to hold all of the cards and forcing any change there looks expensive...

In that case, I think Apple will go the technology route and produce a TV with an interface that allows it to function something like a desktop in the living room. Though smart TV's have kinda flopped in the West, they're doing much better in China, India and Brazil where the desktop presence is likely lower than the US/Europe. Wouldn't be surprised if Apple smells a dual opportunity there: disruption of a nascent market and new global growth.
