Feedback needed on 2012 Contest End Date change: I originally proposed ending the 2012 Contest using Friday, 12/28, closing prices. But I now think it makes more sense (and would be easier for me) to end it using Monday, 12/31, closing prices. That way I can use the same set of closing prices for the 2012 final Contest rankings and the full-year performance data for Contest stock picks. If Monday, 12/31 prices are used, I should be able to post the winner within an hour after the close of trading. And I assume the winner will be able to post their charity soon thereafter (or even earlier if the winning portfolio seems obvious beforehand), allowing those who want to take a 2012 tax deduction for their donation to make it in time. Please let me know if ending the 2012 Contest using Monday, 12/31, closing prices is Ok with folks. And unless there are strong objections from Contestants, that’s what I’ll use. Happy Chanukah!
