They valued children very highly (male children, at least) and had laws to protect all citizens based on what they believed was right. As the forerunners of moral philosophy, they of course argued incessantly over what was moral and as to how one ought to live. We stand on their shoulders. we have made some changes but it is remarkable what these people reasoned out 3000 years ago and how so much of their wisdom (such as Aristotle, Socrates, and Solon) has stood the test of time. Most modern people and educational Institutions honour them for their contributions. You choose to despise and condemn them. It just goes to show what a pathetic anti-social and immoral loser you are. ``do you think God has the right to judge anyone? If there was a Creator being, her rights would be defined strictly by might is right. Nobody would have the power to engage in polemics or to challenge what it did. So, of course, it would have the right to judge or do anything it wanted. Whether it judged rightly or wrongly, morally or immorally would depend on what it believed the good to be and on whether or not it chose to do what it believed to be good. But this had nothing to do with my question to you. I had asked you what you believed to be the future of the entire Greek society in the mythic afterlife. Would they be tortured forever?
