Rick and all,
Thanks for posting the most recent articles or mentioning them which have included info about atis and the industry in general. It was a nice break to take a week or so away from si posting, but I'm glad that you guys didn't.
for general biotech discussion: FWIW, my thoughts about biotech in general are that the whole sector has been creamed, primarily since the original 500+ point dow drop of @6weeks or so ago. Many/most biotechs lost much of their value then, and never really put it back with the market rebound, except for the large pharmaceuticals. Keep in mind that most had their drops on relatively light volume while the market in general was anything but light volume over the last several weeks.
In light of the current market situation, it looks like this industry is now one of the more reasonable valued, although there isn't much profit here at this point...but this isn't the primary basis in valuing these companies. Techs in general are getting clobbered again, but hadn't as a whole been as badly beaten down, imo, as the biotech sector, although certain tech sectors have, which I include biotech in....although today wasn't a good day for techs in general.
However, if people look at news coming out, it is clear that several companies are poised in the biotech sector, and I think with the coming year, people who did some cherry picking in the right companies will be very pleased.
It will be interesting to see how atis does if/when there is an announcement about getting placed on the plastics panel agenda. With the next meeting potentially being in late january, this isn't all that far away, and with much heavier short interest, some squeezing could be in order, even though there is a sizeable market cap already. Looks like some nice movement in advance of the meeting is likely, assuming it is on the agenda of course, and my guess is that it will continue to move with a recommendation, as long as it doesn't overstep itself prior to this....my guess is that from 15-17 leaves room for continued movement, but above that, and it will have to take a breather. All this is jumping the gun, but the table looks set already, and it looks like all we can do is wait to see how dinner comes out.
Dennis..yeah, that Blair thing is annoying. Pity that certain companies we all care about had to be offered through them.
Hope everyone is well and had a nice holiday.
Harry, if you're out there, where across the pond are you coming from?? Nice to see how many parts of the world are involved here.
