What I meant by "free markets" was markets UNREGULATED by reasonable regulations or ethics.

Markets where bankers can hand out mortgages to ANY clown that can lie and sign their name and then just pass that bad paper on to the next guy after it's been rated AAA by a ratings agency that's in the bank's back pocket.

That kinda "Free" market almost brought down the entire world's financial system.

And NOBODY goes to jail for that. They not only don't go to jail, they just go on collecting their $10 million a year.
