I suspect you will have to repeat yourself because I have no idea what you mean by "serious gun control." The point I was making was that there was no proposal that I was aware of, which had a snowball's chance in hell of passing, which would have any appreciable impact on preventing gun massacres like the one we just experienced. But you must have some idea in mind and I'd like to hear it. Because if there is no such practical legislation then the "left" ought to actually listen to "folk like me", cease stirring the "they'll take your guns away" crowd's fears and devote their energies into the pursuit of the possible. Ed PS, "protect the right of hunters" means that you'll keep guns in private hands. With guns in the hands of "hunters" your problem is that you can tell people they can use them only for hunting but we can't make a gun that shoots animals and not people, not yet, anyway.
