Enid is a photographer and she is interested in self help. She has no qualifications in psychiatry or in analysing the personality of Socrates. My post gave many quotes and references to indicate how spinny she is.

You could not find anything in the scholarly literature to refute the facts so you went to a religious nut!

The facts remain:

Greece was a pederastic culture for about 1000 years.

The Greeks had no concept of homosexuality. For them...love was love.

It was standard practice for a mature male (the erestes) to mentor an adolescent (the eromenos).

Sometimes sex was involved. Sometimes not. In Sparta, any sex was taboo and resulted in death or exile.

Consent of the father was always required in these relationships just as today in our marriage laws.

Sex for money or other bribery was illegal and could result in death.

Greek culture was consumed with moral philosophy and with the study of what was the good and how ought men and society to live.

Your anger and hatred for Socrates, Plato, Solon, and all the other heros and wise Sages of Greece needs to be explained. Your obsessive hate as demonstrated over several weeks of blubbering, whining, and spewing of infantile nonsense, clearly reflects emotional turmoil and repressed urges. It appears to be classic Reaction Formation where your fear of your homosexuality is expressed by an exaggerated hatred of Greek culture which involved males loving males.

How ironic that the imaginary Sky Fairie you turn to to quiet your nerves and to subdue your inner urges turns out to have been probably Queer himself! Oh Gregoree, I do feel so badly for you. You are such a little boy... -g-
