A hypocrite is a person who advocates something for others that he is not willing to do himself. An example of a hypocrite is a person who says WE should do something about a disaster, and means by that others should do something about it. America is the most generous nation in the history of the world. The people, citizens, of America historically donate more to charity than any other first world nation.

A hypocrite is a person who says we are not taxed enough but pays a lower rate just because it is current law. Intellectually honest people put their money where their mouth is. Unfortunately it is not legal to pay a fair rate which would be lower than the current rate.

Maybe the tax rate should be determined by survey. Survey all Americans and set the rate at the average of all responses, except that all respondents who suggested a higher rate will be bound by their response. That would be fair.
